I'm not sure why this book is a favorite for students, myself。 I didn't think it was particularly funny or engaging, and I even have trouble thinking of when I might use this book besides a read aloud for enjoyment。 It could be used for students to predict what happens when dragons eat spicy salsa, I suppose。 I was expecting more in a plot or in prose for this to be as popular as it is。 I'm not sure why this book is a favorite for students, myself。 I didn't think it was particularly funny or engaging, and I even have trouble thinking of when I might use this book besides a read aloud for enjoyment。 It could be used for students to predict what happens when dragons eat spicy salsa, I suppose。 I was expecting more in a plot or in prose for this to be as popular as it is。 。。。more

If we're being honest, I saw this book on my "home" page and I knew I had to read it。 I was intrigued by the combination of tacos and dragons。 I was interested to learn more (and who doesn't love tacos?)The author discusses how you will need LOTS of tacos for a taco party with dragons (a boatload, to be specific!) This book is about a little boy who wants to make a taco party for fire breathing dragons。 These dragons are special because they love eating tacos。 They eat beef tacos, chicken tacos, enormous tacos, and small tacos。 The little boy invites all of the dragons to his party。 He tries to make all the tacos that the dragons like to eat。 He even makes a spicy salsa, but warns the dragons that it is super hot。 The dragon eats a taco with the hot sauce and something bad happens!I definitely recommend t This book is about a little boy who wants to make a taco party for fire breathing dragons。 These dragons are special because they love eating tacos。 They eat beef tacos, chicken tacos, enormous tacos, and small tacos。 The little boy invites all of the dragons to his party。 He tries to make all the tacos that the dragons like to eat。 He even makes a spicy salsa, but warns the dragons that it is super hot。 The dragon eats a taco with the hot sauce and something bad happens!I definitely recommend this book for primary aged students。 It is so engaging and the pictures capture the story。 It is so great to see the dragon’s being a part of normal society。 This is a great story that combines fantasy and real world。 The students would definitely want this story to be read multiple times。 This book is a great way to introduce fantasy stories into the classroom。 I found this book as I was looking for fantasy picture books for the primary level students。 I found this book on this website: https://elephant-books。com/2020/07/17。。。 I was able to check this book out from my public library。 I know my school library also has this book。 There are pre recorded as a read aloud for this book on Youtube as well。 。。。more

Dragons Love Tacos is a super fun, exciting, silly book for children。 The genre is contemporary realistic fiction。 It won the Goodreads Choice Awards for Best Picture Books。 Dragons Love Tacos is great for 3-5 year olds。 This book tells the story of how dragons absolutely love tacos, but watch out for that spicy salsa or you'll be in big trouble! Stephanie Doll,
This book is about dragons who love tacos and what they like on the tacos。 We also learn what happens to the dragons when they get spicy (or mild) salsa, they burn down the house! I thought this book was okay。 It wasn’t my favorite, but I’ve read worse。 My kids loved it。 I would recommend this book to children around the ages of 5-9 and for anyone who loves tacos or dragons! There were no diverse characters in this book。
Kathy,
I finally got around to reading this, and it is quite appropriately silly。 How does your child like their tacos?

A boy wants to make a taco party。 He makes lots and lots of tacos。 The tacos are for the dragons and the boy didn't put any spicy salsa in the tacos。 The dragons came after he made all of the tacos and then the dragons loved the taco party。 Then the boy thought that it was good that he got rid of all that - wait a second - because he saw one of the dragons passing the spicy salsa to another dragon。 He told the dragons not to eat the tacos but they kept on eating it and then they blew out fire。 A boy wants to make a taco party。 He makes lots and lots of tacos。 The tacos are for the dragons and the boy didn't put any spicy salsa in the tacos。 The dragons came after he made all of the tacos and then the dragons loved the taco party。 Then the boy thought that it was good that he got rid of all that - wait a second - because he saw one of the dragons passing the spicy salsa to another dragon。 He told the dragons not to eat the tacos but they kept on eating it and then they blew out fire。 The dragons burned down the house and then they helped to build the house back up。 The boy didn't know why。 He learned that he should double-check to see if there's any spicy salsa。I would recommend this book because I like the taco cave。Reviewed by 6 yo for a book report。 。。。more

Madelaine,
This is just a silly book that I think would be the perfect type of book that would be good to read to students after they come back from recess or lunch time。 This book has many colors。 Another thing that I like about this book is that because it is a simple and easy read students can easily catch onto the pattern and interact with the book as well which is another reason why I think it is a good book to share after recess when the students still need to get their wiggles and energy out。
Abigail Serna,
This wouldn’t be my first choice for even a young audience。 There isn’t much of a plot, outside of dragons liking tacos。 I just didn’t see much educational value or even that much humor for just a fun read。
Cassie,

Ashley James,
Not one of my favorites。 You just get this feeling the author is trying to be funny or cheeky but it's just about how dragons love tacos。 The drawings are awesome though, and don't get me wrong, it is silly but not fun enough to make me enjoy it when my daughters ask me to read it again and again and again and again。。。 Not one of my favorites。 You just get this feeling the author is trying to be funny or cheeky but it's just about how dragons love tacos。 The drawings are awesome though, and don't get me wrong, it is silly but not fun enough to make me enjoy it when my daughters ask me to read it again and again and again and again。。。 。。。more

This was another modern classic that I'd somehow never read before, so I checked it out from the library to read it with the girls。 I enjoyed it and thought it was cute。 I'm familiar with this author/illustrator duo from Those Darn Squirrels which I use for work and have read repeatedly and also think is a fun story。 This one didn't quite live up to its hype for me。 I expected a bit more of a climax, I guess。 Still, I'm glad we finally read it。 The only problem is that it instantly makes me crav This was another modern classic that I'd somehow never read before, so I checked it out from the library to read it with the girls。 I enjoyed it and thought it was cute。 I'm familiar with this author/illustrator duo from Those Darn Squirrels which I use for work and have read repeatedly and also think is a fun story。 This one didn't quite live up to its hype for me。 I expected a bit more of a climax, I guess。 Still, I'm glad we finally read it。 The only problem is that it instantly makes me crave tacos。 Even writing about it now I'm once again craving tacos。 And not good tacos, either。 Like, Taco Bell tacos with the crunchy shell (and mild taco sauce, like the dragons)。 。。。more
